Our Mission:

• To reduce maternal and infant mortality in developing countries in advance of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDG) for 2015, in Sierra Leone as worst case scenario.

• To increase the capacity of MAMASnet project partners for research and use of advanced telemedicine and health informatics appropriate to their needs

• To bridge clinicians, universities, ministries and community- based organizations to resources for clinical healthcare and public health in rural and refugee environments.

Our Goals:

• Collection of data in remote locations, its transmission to central processing facilities, the processing of data to extract desired information, and the dissemination of raw data and post-processed information to appropriate stakeholders

• Efficient rural clinical health care delivery through the broadcast of training programs and performance review, remote diagnostics and consultation, faster triage and transport.

• accessible electronic medical records database for each deployed system based on geographic region, with priority to maternal and child health records

• supply chain management to include equipment, medicine and food through tracking, inventory and mapping applications.

• Communication network—appropriate to needs and end-user requirements-- for education, public policy and health planning with human rights framework

• Partnership program and business model to design and deploy projects which offset health costs with mechanics for clean water, solid waste and biodiesel production

Our Values:

Women must be central to planning and use of emerging telemedicine networks,

• Systems will be designed to be self-sustaining, and costs shared between sectors, with net impact increased as health, farming, fishing, education networks are strengthened.

• Capacity to share information—real time--- will be organized for rapid analysis and decision making at policy and practice levels, to save lives, time, and resources

• Ongoing research and analyses will be central to each aspect of projects, leading to more robust systems, informed and effective clinicians, better international cooperation.
